Weee!

My soldering station just arrived, picking it up this afternoon at the postoffice. And got a mess from diyledexpress that my 15 rgb strings and 5 rolls of strip has been shipped as well. Me likey!

I ordered some more stuff, hadn’t planned on doing it, but what the hey.

10 LEDancer pcbs and 5 BOM’s for 60 dollars including shipping was way to nice to pass up

So, now I just need to find a place to buy the fast meteor PCB’s

First pieces of kit arrived, got the two PCB’s for the Lynx USB Dongle. So now all I’ve got to do is order the BOM from Mouser and a new soldering station. that will have to wait until next month tho…

And I just realised I need to get my hands on a Pickit 3 programmer as well, oh well, are a bunch of those available on ebay I spose

Also ordered some rgb string and rgb strip on PreSale, should arrive around march, no biggie… Have to order some standard warm white led string as well. Will probably need around 30 strings for the 3 appletrees  thats in front of the house. Big question is… how many channels 30 I guess, one channel for each string would give me maximum “oomph”, or hmm, maybe I should settle for 8 strings in each tree and go with 3 x 8 channel controllers… decisions decisions….

But fun! I’ve gotten a serious case of the CLAP (Christmas Lights Addiction Problem)

Seems like RJ was out of SSC’s, so I ordered two Lynx Dongles from him instead. Will be ordering a Renard 64xc with a bunch of DCSSR’s and 2xledtriks/2xtriks-c pcb’s from wjohn as well.

Most likely end up with a bunch of 27 channel/3channel cards/pucks from Ray Wu as well.

Now, just need to find and order myself a new soldering station as well. At the moment I’m leaning towards a Kada 852+, saw one for sale on Ebay for $130 (ca 1000 SEK).

Also convconvinced wifey that I need to ert one of the rooms in the basement to a workshop! Will need to get some more poweroutlets, lighting and network socket in there though!

Plans are proceeding well! 2012 will be year one of Blinky, flashy bliss for me!

Ordered a 16 port Smart String Hub and 2 Smart String Controllers PCB’s from Robert Jordan over at http://diylightanimation.com at $17 for the bare PCB’s including shipping. Nice deal.

Want to try to get a few different types of kits to “experiment” But the SSH’s are pretty nice due to the fact that you can designate one of the RJ-45 outputs to run a DMX universe.

Just need to get a controller as well, the Lynx EthernetDongle is currently not available, so I’ll get a USB dongle with the Pixelnet firmware on it for now

Need some DMX controllers as well htough, probalby gonna build some renards most likely.

Well, the setlist for 2012 is now done.

Just need to sequence the 10 or so songs I settled on. A few well known ones, but I also went with a couple of choices that will be “out of the box”.

Hopefully I’ll have it all sequenced until December the first for lights on!
